History of unTravel

Nidhi Thakur
Born and raised in Mumbai, up until the age of 23 the only city apart from Mumbai I had “seen” (not explored) was my mother’s hometown Agra. And even of these visits, that happened during every school summer vacation, I barely had any recollections.

So today when I tell you I’m just a regular girl with a dream to travel, you must believe me. It was only in the summer of 2014 (I was 24), that I finally plucked the courage to quit my job, and took the plunge and took my first solo trip. McLeod Ganj is the place I chose for my first solo travel experience, and I now proudly say that I’ve made the city my home. I returned to Mumbai after that trip, only to realize that I had left a piece of my heart back in the mountains. The travel bug had bitten, and I decided to shift and settle in Dharamshala to be reunited with my love and appreciation of the mountains.

With my blog, I want to invite you to join me on a virtual travel journey as I try capturing the unseen beauty of India and reciting the unheard tales of our incredible culture!

Let’s untravel, shall we? 🙂
